A.K.A - DJ Kellz, Kellz

Jacob started to take a liking to the music and event industry early on. From a young age he was playing live instruments in bands and doing small local shows. As he grew he started attending some concerts and festivals which instilled a love of dance music. From the lights to the stage set ups and huge speaker rigs he loved it all.

For college he choose to stay local and study at New Rochelle’s own Iona College. He quickly became a face on campus as a member of his fraternities executive board and became the college’s DJ for most campus events; from Involvement Fairs and charity events, to Concerts playing as direct support for artists like Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Ty Dolla Sign, and A Boogie. As he continued his education in business he knew that in order to take himself to the next level he had to branch out. He began reaching out through different channels to get booked in the city and eventually found his home with Dream Hospitality. Dream had a reputation for throwing the best events at some of the most high profile venues NYC had to offer. For years he learned as he opened up for top tier DJs and Performers slowly building up his resume. Aside from playing these events he also took a role in curating the events from the ground up learning exactly what must be done in order to put on a successful event.

Combining his love for music with his knowledge of hosting events he strived to create a organization that can take someones vision for an event and completely exceed all of their expectations and he has done just that with Modern Sound.
